NASC
We are dedicated to educating and revolutionizing the nutritional
supplement marketplace. Dr. Roger Kendall, Vice President of
Research and Development, and Dale Metz, CEO, are both founding
members of the National Animal Supplement
Council or NASC. Dale Metz is Vice President of
NASC and is on the board of directors. As part
of the executive team, he is also involved in
working with the FDA and the Center of
Veterinary Medicine (CVM) to establish new policy
guidelines for animal supplements.Dr. Roger Kendall is the Chair of
the NASC Scientific Advisory Committee.
The NASC represents 65% of the animal supplement manufacturers in
the U.S. The NASC was established to work with the Association of
American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) and the FDA to resolve
issues involved with supplement regulation for non-human food-chain
animals. Mr. Metz and Dr. Kendall helped develop the Compliance
Plus Program. The Compliance Plus program is a guideline for all
NASC members put into place to solidify procedures for animal
supplement regulation. Compliance Plus defines label guidelines,
adverse event reporting, the use of BMP quality control standards, and
focuses on industry directed research.

This board of respected experts is comprised of veterinarians and
animal nutritionists specializing in small or large animal medicine who
possess a wide background in teaching, lecturing, writing, and are
active board members in their professional community. The members
are divided into small animal (cat and dog) and large animal (equine)
review boards. With their backgrounds in nutrition, alternative
medicine, holistic therapies, anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry,
these board members have knowledge and background in the

SUSAN G. WYNN, DVM
Dr. Wynn received her degree in Veterinarian Medicine from the
University of Georgia in 1987. She is the Founder of the Veterinary
Botanical Medical Association and serves on the advisory boards of
the Veterinary Research Council, Veterinary Institute of Integrative
Medicine and the National Animal Supplement Council. She is
currently the President-elect of the American Holistic Veterinary
Medical Association, is active in the Georgia Veterinary Medical
Association, and is a registered professional herbalist with the
American Herbalist Guild. Dr. Wynn is a consultant for the Veterinary
Information Network and the American Veterinary Medical
Association's Network of Animal Health. She currently practices
veterinarian medicine at the Bell’s Ferry Veterinary Hospital in
Acworth, GA.
She is an internationally respected speaker in holistic veterinary
medicine, and is an adjunct faculty member with the University of
Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a two-time grant
review panelist for the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Wynn has had
papers published in scientific and professional journals, and has
authored or co-authored 4 professional level textbooks, including
Veterinary Herbal Medicine (available late 2006), Manual of Natural
Veterinary Medicine: Science and Tradition, Emerging Therapies:
Herbal and Natural Medicine for Small Animals, and Complementary
and Alternative Veterinary Medicine: Principles and Practice.
NANCY SCANLAN, DVM, CVA, MSFP
Dr. Scanlan graduated from the UC Davis School of Veterinary
Medicine. She has practiced holistic veterinary medicine since 1990,
and currently uses acupuncture, Chinese and western herbs, trigger
point therapy, nutraceutical therapy, and homotoxicology. She has
spoken on these subjects at numerous meetings for veterinarians and
pet owners. She currently has her veterinary practice in Sherman Oaks, CA.
Dr. Scanlan currently serves on the boards of the Veterinary Botanical
Medical Association, Veterinary Research Council, Veterinary Institute
of Integrative Medicine and serves as the Vice President of the
American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association. She is a member of
IVAS, SCVMA, CVMA, and AVMA.
She is a lecturer and author on Nutrition for Small Animals. Her Articles
have appeared in: Cat Fancy, Dog Fancy, Journal of the American
Holistic VMA, Journal of the International Veterinary Acupuncture
Society, Nutrition Science News, and Alternative Medicine Review.
PAULA JO (PJ) BROADFOOT, DVM
Dr. Broadfoot attended Arkansas State University and received a BS in
Animal Science and Industry with an emphasis on Genetics. She was
a member of multiple equine clubs and participated in many
competitions. She graduated Kansas State University School of Veterinary Medicine, Cum Laude in 1981.
Dr. Broadfoot is a member of Arkansas Veterinary Medical
Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, American
Holistic Veterinary Medical Association. Dr Broadfoot operates a
holistically oriented veterinary practice in Van Buren, Arkansas and
lectures frequently on nutritional aspects of healing. She has been
interviewed on many radio programs, participated in alternative
Veterinary Medicine forums and roundtable discussions, and lectured
at multiple seminars and conferences primarily on nutritional topics
and homotoxicology.
Her published articles have been included in such diverse journals as
Explore Magazine, The AHVMA Journal, and an English & international
version of the Biotherapy Journal.

ALLEN SCHOEN, M.S., D.V.M.
Dr. Schoen, former Holistic Veterinarian of the Year, is a pioneer in the
development, teaching and practice of the scientific basis of
Integrative Veterinary Medicine since 1982. Dr. Schoen is a 1978
graduate of Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine. He also
holds a Master's Degree in neurophysiology and behavior from the
University of Illinois. He is an international lecturer and has received
numerous awards for his contributions in Complementary and
Alternative Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Schoen is the former President of International Veterinary
Acupuncture Society, a founding committee member of American
Nutraceutical Council, a Charter Fellow in American College of
Acupuncture, and Director of The Veterinary Institute for Therapeutic
Alternatives. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Natural Pet
Products Association. His veterinary practice is based in Sherman, CT.
Dr. Schoen is the editor and co-editor of 5 veterinary textbooks and
the author of two books for the public including: Complementary and

DR. GARY PUSILLO, MS, PHD, P.A.S., ACAN

ANIMAL NUTRITIONIST
Dr. Pusillo's advanced degrees are all from Iowa State University in
Ames, Iowa. Dr. Pusillo is a registered Feed Microscopist, a certified
Professional Animal Scientist and a board certified member of the
American College of Animal Nutrition.
Dr. Pusillo has a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Husbandry
from the Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture in
Doylestown, Pennsylvania. His Masters degree is in Animal Production
and his PhD is in Animal Nutrition. Dr. Pusillo practices Large Animal
Veterinary Medicine and nutritional consulting in Brazil and Argentina.
Dr. Pusillo’s work is currently focused on advanced Phytochemistry,
Nutraceutical Development and Complementary Medicine. His ongoing
research addresses the most prevalent needs of today’s livestock,
companion and exotic species.
Dr. Pusillo is founder and CEO of the Oasis Research Centre, a
nutrition research facility focused on the product development of
specialty nutraceutical products for dogs, cats, horses, livestock and
exotic animals. Dr. Pusillo is widely recognized throughout the feed
and nutrition industry for his expertise in direct-fed microbials and
nutraceuticals. Dr. Pusillo is one of the leading private practice
forensic investigators in the animal and feed industry and is regularly
called upon to testify as an expert trial witness throughout the United
States.
Dr. Pusillo speaks and teaches worldwide and has been featured in
