Gorgeous colourful purple and red striped sleeveless mod shift dress and coat set. The dress has a round neckline with solid black yoke before switching to the striped fabric with a slight gathering. It falls to just below the knee, closes at centre back with a plastic zipper and is fully lined in black. 
The coat has a small stand collar and shiny black domed shank buttons at centre front. It is also fully lined in black and is the same length as the dress. 

COLOUR: Purple, black, red, gold, 

FABRIC: Label has been cut off. Medium weight synthetic. 

LABEL: Peck & Peck. Fifth Avenue New York. 

This high profile New York private label department store was founded in 1888. It grew to have 78 stores across the U.S. Like Bonwit Teller and B. Altman, it flourished in pre-hippie New York with a focus on WASP-ish styles. Between the mid 70s and early 90s, the company was sold off. Check out their delightful mid century advertisements!
